DESCRIPTION:
Introduced in 1937 at the Paris World’s Fair, the Tea Trolley utilizes a process invented by Alvar Aalto for bending thick layers of birch into gracefully curved loops to create strong, light frames. The Paimio—another iconic piece from the Finnish designer—employs the same method. Aalto designed the Tea Trolley for residential use and placed it in the living room of the Villa Mairea (1937-1939). For easy movement, these charming and functional pieces have large white wheels with black rubber tread that protects floors and carpeting. The handle and edge-banding are solid birch.
