DESCRIPTION:
Keil means wedge, which refers the technical principles that artist and artisan Daniel Heer uses to combine elements of the stool.  No glue or nails are used in its construction.  Material and its purity are of utmost importance to Heer.  The leather is tanned in pits using  methods from the 17th century.  Broad belt straps are woven over a frame of fine European wood creating a meshwork that is the prominent aesthetic element as well as a comfortable seating surface.
