DESCRIPTION:
Shield is a limited edition spatial intervention that gives form and movement to the space it occupies. Like much of the designer Jonathan Muecke's work, Shield is an exploration into how the principles of architecture can be applied to objects in a more immediate way. Shield challenges the typology of what an object should be and instead reflects the materials and the forces at work in the creation of the object. The designer's preoccupation with the tension between curved forms and straight lines results in the irregular, concave polygon form of Shield.
